At NorthShore Plastic Surgery, we’re proud to offer Arlington Heights, Highland Park, Glenview, Northbrook, and other Illinois residents the best in plastic surgery. We want to make sure you’re fully prepared for every phase of your experience with Dr. Mark Sisco or our aesthetic staff. Here, learn about the process you can expect when you choose us for your surgery.
Book Your Visit
Ready to get started? So are we! Use our online form to request your consultation, or call our office at (847) 504-2333 to speak to a member of our staff. When you call, we’ll ask you some basic questions, including your contact information, your availability, and the procedures you’re considering.
Visualize Your Result
It’s important to have a realistic sense of what’s possible and what’s not before any aesthetic procedure. Although you’ll leave your consultation with a solid idea of the results you can expect, it’s a good idea to think about the final look you want, too. Whether you’re undergoing a breast augmentation, tummy tuck, or something in between, Dr. Sisco encourages you to bring in photos that depict features you like — and to articulate the qualities you don’t. Having as much information as possible helps him create the results you want.
Streamlining Paperwork
Once you book your consultation, we may send you an email with a secure link to our intake forms. Instead of filling out these forms in our office, you can complete them at home on your own schedule. If you need help or have any questions, we’re just a phone call away.
When you visit us for the first time, be sure to bring along a photo I.D. and your medical insurance card.
Planning the Conversation
Your consultation is a good, unhurried opportunity for you to discuss your surgical goals and ask questions about any stage of the surgical process. In addition to your desired results, you and Dr. Sisco also discuss your medical history and any relevant past or present conditions. This ensures your safety both during and after surgery. Finally, Dr. Sisco performs a physical examination of the area you wish to treat. If you need to get undressed, you’ll have the opportunity to do so in private.
Financing and Fees
The cost of plastic surgery is a major consideration for most people, and Dr. Sisco and his staff aim to make the process as simple as possible. At the end of your visit, a member of our support staff guides you through the costs associated with your chosen procedure. We also provide you with a written estimate for your surgery. This includes:
- Surgical and operating room fees
- Anesthesia
- Medical devices, such as breast implants
- Compression garments and other aftercare supplies
- Follow-up care
We offer several payment options:
- Cash or check: Personal check, cashier’s check, or cash
- Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express
- CareCredit®: If you wish to finance your procedure and have a strong financial history, you may apply for CareCredit. You apply just as you would for other kinds of credit and make scheduled payments. Our office staff has extensive experience with CareCredit and are happy to assist you. The CareCredit card is used just like a regular credit card, but it’s specifically intended for your health and aesthetic needs. Apply here.
Book Your Surgery
When you’re ready to move forward, it’s time to book your surgery. We require a $500 non-refundable deposit that is collected and credited toward your procedure. Full payment of the physician fee is due at least 2 weeks before your scheduled procedure. You can make your payment at the time of your pre-op appointment or over the phone with a credit card. Failure to make your final payment at least 2 weeks prior to your surgery date may result in cancellation of your surgery. Because both the surgical facility and Dr. Sisco’s time have been blocked out for your procedure, we require a notice of 2 weeks to reschedule your surgery without forfeiting 50% of the physician fee.
Please don’t hesitate to call us with your scheduling or payment questions.
Prepare for Surgery
Once your surgery date is confirmed, you’ll need to make an appointment with your primary care physician to be cleared for surgery. Please let us know the name, phone, and fax numbers of your preferred physician and we’ll fax them a request for preoperative testing. You’ll need to undergo the following:
- Complete history and physical (within 30 days of surgery)
- Nasal bacteria swab (within 30 days of surgery)
- EKG (within 60 days of surgery for patients over 50 years of age)
- Additional tests, depending on your past medical history
If you don’t have a primary care physician , let us know and we can assist you. Without proper surgical clearance, your surgery is subject to cancellation.
If you’re undergoing aesthetic surgery, you will also need to make a pre-op appointment with Dr. Sisco approximately 2 weeks before your surgery. This is your opportunity to address any questions you may have about the surgery, and to review any aftercare instructions. During this appointment, we will also collect the physician fee (cash, check or credit card), and will have you fill out paperwork for the hospital and anesthesia payments, which are also due prior to your surgery date.
The day before your surgery, you’ll be contacted by Ambulatory Services. At that time, the nurse reviews with you the eating restrictions, location of your surgery, and confirms the time of your surgery. If you’re an outpatient, it’s mandatory that a responsible adult either drive or accompany you home after surgery. You may also wish to arrange for someone to help you the first evening after you arrive home.
Your surgery is very important. We do everything in our power to ensure your experience is as smooth as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact our office with any questions.
